What changes are being made?

Minimum requirements for assigning duties will no longer be the subject of a legislative Direction from 1 December 2016.

Agency Heads continue to be expected to manage the resources of their agencies in line with their powers and responsibilities as the employer on behalf of the Commonwealth.

What do agencies need to do?

Agencies are encouraged to review internal policies and procedures applicable to assignment of duties, including temporary assignment of higher duties. Unnecessary prescription should be removed.
